HELPFUL HINTS

 

 

  • Arrive a few mins early to class
  • Wear comfortable, non restrictive attire
  • Practice on a comfortably empty stomach
  • Drink fluids before and after class but try to keep an empty stomach and bladder
  • You are welcome to borrow a mat for class
  • Please refrain from wearing any colognes, perfumes or scented oils/lotions and remove wristwatch any jewelry that may restrict movement

  • Breath through your nose during practice

  • Practice with bare feet
  • Practice Regularly

  • Work with your own body. Do not go over your limits. Be aware of your body

  • Practice without competitiveness or strain. Never force. Get out of posture if you feel you need to do so.

  • Do not identify yourself with your limitations.

  • Women should avoid inverted or strenuous postures during menstrual period

  • You will get the maximum benefits by being fully present and not allowing your mind to wander. When thoughts pull you away come back to your breath and the pose that you are doing.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

 

GENTLE RELAXING YOGA-  A gentle yoga practice to improve breathing and overall heath, reduce stress and connect the mind, body and spirit together. Will include postures from a chair, mat and standing positions. Great for beginners, seniors or people recovering from injury. The postures purify the body so meditation is easier.  Stay for the meditation class for a little more.  

 

YOGA FLOW-  A series of postures flowed together to improve breathing, flexibility, balance, overall health and awareness of love for yourself and the connection between mind body and spirit. For all levels of practice, beginners and experienced. These postures purify the body and mind so meditation practice is easier. Stay for meditation class 8-830pm. 

 

MEDITATION CLASS- Learn and practice different meditation techniques to clear the mind and live a more balanced life in the present moment. 

 

COMBINED TRADITIONS YOGA ALL LEVELS- combining branches of yoga (Hatha, Bhakti, Karma, Nada, Raja) through the styles of combining a variety of styles like Sampoorna, Sivananda, Vinyasa, Restorative, Gentle & Chair, Partner Yoga, Tai Chi, etc. bringing more of a meditative, spiritual, healing and awakening experience.

This class is a challenging yet relaxing class which may include a combination of breathing exercises, postures, sun salutations, balancing, visualizations, guided relaxation or Yoga Nidra, meditation. The open level class is different every time and the level of difficulty is dependent upon the students in class.

   

YOGIC SLEEP/YOGA NIDRA- Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of complete relaxation, holistically addressing our physiological, neurological, subconscious needs, where one achieves true relaxation. During the practice of yoga nidra, one appears to be sleep, but the consciousness is functioning at the deeper level of awareness. It is state of mind in between wakefulness and dream. People have found a constant practice of Yoga Nidra restructures and transforms the whole personality from within. 



The practice of yogic relaxation has been found to effectively reduce tension and improve psychological well being of people suffering from anxiety. The autonomic symptoms of high anxiety such as headache, giddiness, chest pain, palpitations, sweating, abdominal pain respond exceptionally well to yoga nidra. Practicing yoga nidra successfully decreases the time required to fall asleep, thereby curing insomnia. Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of complete relaxation, holistically addressing our physiological, neurological, and subconscious needs.

 

 GENTLE & RESTORATIVE - Gentle yoga postures with focus on the breath with relaxing Restorative Yoga postures and deep guided relaxation. Great for beginners, seniors of for people that want want to decompress and let go!

Restorative yoga is often referred to as "active relaxation." By supporting the body with props we stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance, relaxation and renewal of body and mind. It is designed to release deeply held tensions, sooth the nervous system, strengthen the immune system and refill our spiritual wells. It also includes a combination of breathing exercises, gentle stretching poses, and guided relaxations or yoga nidra.


 

CHAIR YOGA- You can do yoga anywhere in a chair! Great for people who sit a lot, work at computers, seniors or people with injury or illness! Learn and experience the benefits of yoga from a chair. Learn basic chair yoga postures, yogic breathing exercises, stress reduction techniques, and meditation by using a chair. Please bring a large towel or stiff blanket and a mat if you have one, and comfortably empty stomach.

 

TRANSFORMATIONAL YOGA- Yoga means union, connection or relationship, in yoga we are uniting the body mind and spirit for transformation. In these class, you get to explore how different aspects of yoga can assist in self exploration, self-healing, and relaxation...bringing the many qualities and benefits of yoga that can transform your life. You will learn about what yoga is, learn basic gentle postures, breathing and relaxation techniques, yoga philosophy and history, yogic diet for healthy living, different styles of yoga. No yoga experience necessary. Please bring a mat and a large towel or stiff blanket/cushion to sit on and comfortably empty stomach.
